Food drive benefits the Salvation Army

LEPC Food Drive Donation Picture The pantry of the Salvation Army in Walhalla is in better shape, thanks to a donation from the Local Emergency Planning Commission of Oconee County. From a food drive by commission member organizations, about 200 cans of food were delivered yesterday to the Salvation Army at its location on S. John Street. Commission members Scott Krein and Jimmy Watt delivered the food cans. They were accepted by Major Grady Pearson. The Local Emergency Planning Commission meets four times a year to plan for events and contingencies, such as a chemical emergency response.
