For a second time, fire damages Utica home

Fire fighters say they quickly put a stop to a fire yesterday at a home near Seneca without anyone having been hurt. But it was the second time since Thanksgiving that fire fighters have found themselves faced by a fire at that same Utica address. Once again, according to Oconee Deputy Fire Chief Grahl Haney police help has been solicited to determine the cause. Haney said, at the time of yesterday morning’s fire, there was evidence of two people living there. Last week the Sheriff’s Office called for the public to come forward with any information that may help solve a burglary and attempted arson at 27 Ames Street on Thanksgiving morning.
