For illegal buoys, the clock is running!

In a survey of illegal buoys on Lake Keowee, the law enforcement division of the state Department of Natural Resources marked each of 75 buoys with a warning sticker. The owners of those illegal buoys now have 30 days from the marked date to remove them. After 30 days, the DNR will remove them. According to the DNR, the action results from an increasing number of illegal No Wake buoys on many lakes and waterways statewide. They are quickly becoming a navigational hazard and otherwise can be confusing to both the public and law enforcement.
