For Oconee, the worst could be behind it

According to an Oconee emergency services official, “the worst of the worst” appear to be behind the county.  But that is not to say, says Scott Krein, that there could be more impact from rain and wind in the next day or so.  But, in fact, Oconee has been asked by the state to spare some of its personnel resources to be deployed to other parts of the state that have been harder hit.  Here in Oconee, the Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative is an example of one power supplier whose crews and resources are being taxed, as there are numerous trees down on power lines throughout Blue Ridge’s service area.  101.7/WGOG temporarily lost power this morning.
