For opposite reasons, Addis and Lyle can’t wait

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Oconee Coroner Karl Addis is eager to extricate himself from old and cramped headquarters on Walhalla’s Short Street and move into a new office on the grounds of Oconee Memorial Hospital—where he’ll get a morgue large enough to store several bodies, should that need arise. County Council decided last night that the Short Street building will be turned over to the next-door Cherokee Museum of South Carolina. The museum’s creator, Luther Lyle, is expected to use the building to store exhibits that won’t fit in the museum and, according to what council was told, share part of the space to allow storage for both Patriot’s Hall and the Heritage Center
