For the Hammonds, “a new normal”

For the couple who lost a son when he was shot dead by a Seneca policeman, they live a life of a “new normal.”  A day after announcement of a $2.1 million settlement for the estate of Zachary Hammond, Paul and Angie Hammond spoke to reporters during a news conference at Greenville.  Of that settlement, Mrs. Hammond spoke confidently that her son’s death was not in vain.  For change, she said, is in the offing.  Mrs. Hammond says there’s a dash-cam bill before the Senate, the Greenville police have changed their use of force policy, and a federal investigation remains ongoing.
