Forged prescription arrest

A suspicion of whether a prescription had been altered has led to the arrest in Westminster of a 32-year old man who told police that he was seeking relief from pain. The police have charged William Gentry Watkins of Westminster with obtaining prescription by fraud. Watkins was arrested yesterday after Westminster police officers Ashe and Sanders conducted an investigation at the pharmacy at Fred’s on East Main Street. A pharmacy worker reported receiving a prescription that appeared to have been altered for 60 Lortabs instead of six. To make their case, the police relied on a copy of the original prescription for six Lortabs from the Ty Cobb Regional Center in Lavonia, Georgia.
