Former banker to learn fate Thanksgiving week
A former Oconee banker will learn his fate during Thanksgiving week in a U-S District courtroom. A federal court officer tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS that the sentencing of Benjamin Lee Hiott has been rescheduled for 1:30 Monday afternoon, November 23 in Greenville. The former Community First banker awaits sentencing for three counts of bank fraud. He’s also a co-defendant in a civil proceeding, in which a Hilton Head Island woman alleges a series of deceptions cost her a $1.1 million trust.
