Four straight months for jobless descent
Oconee County and South Carolina saw their seasonally-adjusted unemployment rates fall further during the month of September. Oconee’s jobless numbers dropped to 5.5%, from the August percent of 5.8. And the state reported unemployment across the Palmetto State had dropped to 5.7%. That’s the fourth consecutive month for a decline. Out of a labor force of 35,288, there were 33,336 Oconeeans who were employed. That leaves 1,952 who are out of work but actively looking to be re-employed.
