Eligible Oconeeans next week can take advantage of free coupons to buy fresh produce at participating local farmers’ markets. The coupons are limited to low income Oconeeans—aged 60 and older. Each person eligible will receive $25 worth of coupons that may be used at the participating farmers’ markets. The coupons will be issued starting at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning, June 10 at the United Way Center downtown Seneca and will continue until 3 p-m Thursday, June 12, or until the coupons last. The Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program is made possible by the United Way of Oconee, in partnership with the state Department of Social Services.
