Free home fire inspection

Oconee County’s four municipal fire departments are offering free home inspections to those within their fire districts. It’s a collaborative effort to spread awareness of the potential fire dangers in the home and to enhance everyone’s safety. To schedule an appointment for a free inspection, call your department: Westminster Fire Department at 647-3206, Walhalla Fire Department at 638-4345, Salem Fire Department at 944-6060, and Seneca Fire Department at 885-2738. The inspectors will look for working detectors and their locations, potential electrical hazards, and making sure you have an escape plan.
