Free lunch program starts Monday

Oconee public schools once again this summer will attempt to ensure that young people receive a nutritious mid-day meal. The School District and its food service provider, Sodexo, will open their annual summer lunch program Monday at Seneca Middle School. Anyone up to 18 years old is invited to enjoy lunch for free. Special emphasis is being placed this summer on the nutritious aspect of the meals, as the meal provider endeavors to comply with new USDA limits on calories for children. Chef Ulysse Charles invites children to enjoy a hot or cold meal Monday-thru-Friday this summer from 11 a-m to 1 p-m at the middle school.
