Friday is National POW/MIA Day

Clemson University’s Air Force ROTC and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 120 in Seneca are among organizations drawing attention to National POW/MIA Day this Friday. Cleta Bryson of the Legion Auxiliary says her unit is dedicated to ensure that America’s prisoners of war and those missing in action are honored and not only memorialized. CU’s Air Force ROTC marks the day with a 3:30 to 5:30 p-m ceremony in Tillman Hall auditorium. That ceremony will feature guest speaker Anthony Wood, a retired Marine Corps colonel. In Vietnam, Wood was part of a special group that secretly planned the evacuation of 5,000 people from Saigon. National POW/MIA Day is held on the third Friday of September every year.
