Astronaut Patrick Forrester

A man who sees the world differently from most of us spoke to a meeting this morning near Seneca. Astronaut Patrick Forrester now works to spread the word about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to students in Oconee, Anderson, and Pickens counties. Forrester’s purpose in speaking to the Oconee Alliance was not just what it’s like to fly and walk in space, but why it’s important that an interest in technology is nurtured in today’s young. His talk fell in line with an education goal adopted by the Alliance Board of Directors. And today’s audience was dotted by a number of Oconee school leaders.
