After opening the season with a 38-35 loss to FCS top-ranked Coastal Carolina last Saturday, Furman continues its challenging early season schedule this weekend when it travels to Blacksburg, Virginia to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in a 3:34 PM game at Lane Stadium. Virginia Tech kicked off its season Monday night with a 42-24 home loss to defending National Champion and consensus #1 Ohio State. Next week Furman will play at Central Florida to wrap up the most difficult early season non-conference slate in the program’s 35-year history in the FCS (formerly I-AA). Coverage of this Saturday’s game from Blacksburg begins at 2:30 PM with the Paladin Pre-Game Show on 101.7 WGOG and the Furman IMG Sports Network.
