Gala to benefit Oconee Heritage Center

The organization that preserves and interprets Oconee’s history and heritage will benefit from a November gala, and tickets for that event are now on sale. This year’s harvest moon gala is called “Moonshine & Moonlight”—-in recognition that, with the proper permit, you can now make what used to be a strict no-no. Leslie White, director/curator, says Dark Corner Distillery of Greenville will offer moonshine samples. There will also be heavy hors d’ouevres and complimentary beer and wine. Renowned banjo player Charles Wood and the band Nitrograss will perform. The gala takes place 6 to 9 p-m Saturday, November 2 at the Blue Ridge Shrine Club near Seneca.
