Gamecocks drop, Tigers climb, in latest BCS poll

The South Carolina Gamecocks are ranked 13th in the second BCS Standings released Sunday night. The Gamecocks (6-2, 4-2 SEC) fell from #7 following its 44-11 loss at #2 Florida on Saturday.  The Gamecocks have dropped two straight games to teams ranked among the nation’s top 10. Four SEC teams are among the top 10 teams in the BCS Standings, with Alabama and Florida holding the top two spots. LSU comes in at number six, while Georgia is number 10. In addition, Mississippi State is ranked 11th in this week’s BCS Standings.  Carolina will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts the Tennessee Volunteers (3-4, 0-4 SEC). Game time is set for noon at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. Clemson, who defeated Virginia Tech 38-17 on Saturday, climbs one notch to #18 in the BCS standings. The Tigers have a short week before facing Wake Forest this Thursday night in Winston-Salem.
