Gamecocks Remain in Top 10; 3:30 Game Time Set for Florida

The South Carolina Gamecocks are ranked seventh in the initial BCS Standings, released Sunday night. Alabama is the No. 1 team, followed by Florida, Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame. LSU is just ahead of South Carolina and the top one-loss team. Oregon State, Oklahoma and Southern California round out the top 10.  The Gamecocks remained ranked in the Top 10 in both national polls released Sunday. The Gamecocks (6-1, 4-1 SEC) are ranked ninth in this week’s Associated Press poll and eighth in the USA Today/Coaches’ poll.  Carolina will travel to Gainesville this week to take on the Florida Gators (6-0, 5-0 SEC). Florida is ranked third in the AP poll and fourth in the Coaches’ poll. It will be the third-straight Top-10 opponent for the Gamecocks. The game will be televised nationally on CBS at 3:30 p.m.
