Garrisons request museum open as planned

June 18, 2013

The T-Ed Garrison family of Anderson County has requested that a ceremony that honors a late son proceed as scheduled this week. It’s the opening of the Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum at 4:45 Friday afternoon on History Lane—not far from the Pendleton campus of Tri-County Technical College. The Garrison family lost its modern day patriarch, former State Senator Ed Garrison, at the age of 91 on Sunday. The Garrisons’ son, Bart, was killed in a 1990 farming accident. And this Friday’s ceremony marks the opening of a museum that’ll now serve as the state’s official agricultural museum.
