Getting political at the local level

A political forum tomorrow night in Seneca will be minus all of the drama of an Obama-Romney debate. Nonetheless, what the League of Women Voters has planned will spotlight a pair of county leadership positions for which hard tussles are being waged during this 2012 political year. Beginning at 7, in the Gignilliat Center, the public is invited to hear and meet the men running for Seats 4 and 5 on the Oconee County Council. The candidates are District Five incumbent Reg Dexter and his Republican petition opponent Greg Connally. For District Four the candidates are Democrat Jack Collins, incumbent Joel Thrift, and Republican petition candidate Frankie Pearson.
