Getting political in Seneca!

It’s time for Seneca residents to get serious about their city government. Candidate qualifying opens today for Seneca’s March 11 election—when the voters will be asked to fill four of the eight council seats. Those council members whose seats expire this year and who are eligible to run again are Scott Durham, Joel Ward, Ernest Riley and Andrea Alewine. The big change for the 2014 election is that now, with the county handling the city election, candidates must make the trip to Walhalla to file in person at the office of Oconee Registration and Elections. Qualifying runs until January 17. Winners get to serve four-year terms.
