Getting political with the public

It will soon be officially time to get political with Oconee County public education. School District headquarters has announced the qualifying period to run this year for two of the five seats on the Oconee School Board of Trustees. Voters in districts One and Three get the chance this year to vote on individuals to serve in those seats. Qualifying with the district office in Walhalla begins at 8 a-m Monday, July 28 and ends at noon Monday, August 11. Current trustees Jerry Lee of District One and Andy Inabinet of District Three are eligible to run again, as are other residents of those districts. Persons wishing to file as candidates in the November 4 election may obtain a filing packet from the district office.
