GHS not selling Lila Doyle

Greenville Health System is selling a skilled nursing facility in Greer to Orianna Health Systems, which operates nearly 50 skilled nursing facilities in 11 states.  But Oconee Memorial’s Lila Doyle nursing and rehabilitation facility is not part of that sale, according to Hunter Kome, president of the Oconee Medical Campus.  In response to questions about whether Lila Doyle might wind up in some kind or relationship with Tennessee-based Orianna, GHS issued these comments attributed to Kome:  “We believe that partnerships with healthcare organizations that specialize in post-acute care services are essential to our ability to provide access to quality skilled nursing facilities and services for those in the communities we serve. These partnerships between GHS and post-acute care providers are focused on optimizing care transitions from the hospital to the skilled nursing setting, developing innovative models of care outside the acute care setting, reducing avoidable readmissions and enhancing the overall patient experience. Each one of these potential partnerships is assessed individually as to its compatibility with our mission. GHS is committed to working with Orianna and other organizations to provide affordable, quality skilled nursing care in the Upstate even if it is not in a GHS facility.”
