“Good paying jobs” on the way

Richard Blackwell says an official announcement is scheduled this morning by the state that a new industry is headed Oconee County way. It’s the Plastic Products Company, a Minnesota outfit that will set up shop in a building behind the Seneca Lowe’s Store. Blackwell, Oconee’s chief economic development recruiter, says 77 jobs are promised and there will be information today about how those interested in jobs can apply. According to Blackwell, Plastic Products will offer “good paying jobs.” Last night Oconee County Council approved a fee-in-lieu tax agreement, as a way to help attract the Midwest company.
