The recent security breach at the South Carolina Department of Revenue has prompted Governor Nikki Haley to pen a letter to the IRS.  In a press conference Wednesday, the Governor released a report by a security company which conducted an investigation into the security breach.  The company’s report indicates the security breaches began as early as August 13, when an employee clicked on a malicious e-mail. In total, the company reported 16 separate security breaches at the South Carolina Department of revenue.  During the press conference, Governor Haley also publicly accepted the resignation of Department of Revenue Chief Jim Etter.  Haley has also written the Internal Revenue Service, asking the IRS to require states to have tighter security measures when dealing with Tax information.
