Graduation speaker offers glimpse of the future

The members of Tri-County Technical College’s largest graduating class were told last week that dramatic and accelerated changes in the digital world will be exciting and terrifying and will change how we interact. The speaker was Bernie Anger, general manager of GE Intelligent Platforms. The business unit, part of GE Energy Management, is based in Charlottesville, Virginia. On May 8 at the Anderson Civic Center, 623 Tech students received degrees, diplomas and certificates. Anger sent the graduates out into the world with this advice: “Approach life with an endless sense of curiosity. If you want to thrive in the workplace, make learning a lifelong habit. Keep your learning muscle active.” Anger challenges himself to learn something new each year.
