Graham wants special exemption ended

September 25, 2013

U-S Senator Lindsey Graham wants to eliminate the special Congressional exemption under Obamacare—the Affordable Care Act. A statement from the South Carolina Republican’s office today reads: “America will suffer under Obamacare and Congress should be no different. I support the Vitter Amendment to end the special Obamacare exemption and force Congress to live under this disaster of a law just like every other American.” The amendment, sought by Louisiana Republican David Vitter, has been described as an attempt to prevent political appointees, members of Congress and their staffs from receiving the same coverage and be eligible for subsidies that are available to every other American who enrolls in the health exchanges. In other words, no special deals.
