Greenville affiliation pays dividends, Kome says

At late summer, Oconee Memorial Hospital is seeing total patient numbers between 85 and 87 a day.  Hunter Kome, president of the Oconee Medical Campus of the Greenville Health Systems, was happy to make the report last night as it reverses the trends of only a few years ago.  He attributes more patients a benefit of the now 10-month old affiliation with GHS.  Aside from occupied patient rooms, Oconee Memorial has taken on new staff.  Since October, the date of the GHS takeover, Oconee has added more than 200 employees—three of them general surgeons.
