Greer man charged with arson in Oconee

A 41-year old Greer man has been charged with arson third degree—the result of a truck found burned in June in Oconee County. The Sheriff’s Office identified Coy Shane Wilson as having been booked yesterday afternoon into the Oconee Detention Center. As part of an investigation that involved Pickens County authorities, Wilson is accused of setting fire to a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup truck. According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, the truck was found June 19 on U-S Forest Service property near Long Creek and Brasstown Church Road. Officers say they found a vehicle identification number that led to the discovery that the truck was stolen in Pickens County.
