Guilty on both charges

A 17-year old man has been convicted in the General Sessions Court at Walhalla on charges that he stabbed his cousin 11 times. The judge sent Laquavius Cleveland to prison for a total of 27 years for attempted murder and the possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a crime. According to a court officer, Cleveland will be required to serve nearly 23 years before becoming eligible for parole. The jury heard testimony that the stabbing victim, Hykeem Kirkland, was found bleeding profusely at the stoop of a Shiloh Road produce stand.
