Guilty plea entered in federal court
The government has announced a 27-year old Easley woman pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute oxycodone and faces the possibility of 20 years in prison or a $250 thousand fine, or both. U-S Attorney Bill Nettles said Shelley Nicole Dillard entered a plea of guilt before Judge G-Ross Anderson Jr. Sentencing will follow a review of a pre-sentence report prepared by the federal probation office. According to Nettles, evidence established that law enforcement investigated a ring selling oxycodone. Fake prescriptions were created and passed through the Upstate. The ring leaders used the pills and sold large quantities for a profit. Addicts would get a small cash payment or a few pills for personal use in exchange for passing the prescriptions. The conspiracy operated from April 2011 until approximately August of this year. Law enforcement recovered 80 false prescriptions.
