Guilty plea to store robbery

A prison term amounting to 12 years has been meted out in an Anderson courtroom to a man who admitted that he robbed a Pendleton store.  The sentence pronounced by Judge Lawton McIntosh resulted from the guilty plea entered by Willie Wideman to the charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.  According to the office of the 10th Circuit Solicitor, Wideman was identified as the man who last year entered the Dollar General and showed a knife to the clerk, forcing her to empty the store registers into a bag.  Store surveillance and evidence found at a vacant home where Wideman was staying led to his arrest on April 3, 2014.
