Gun allegedly used in Mountain Rest leads to arrest

A Greenville County man entered the Oconee County jail yesterday charged in an incident that is alleged to have started when the man claimed the woman’s dog killed his chickens.  Andy Charles Walker, Jr. is charged with pointing and presenting firearms at a person and unlawful carrying a pistol.  At the time, July 1, the woman was cutting grass on Hillside Drive in Mountain Rest.  According to the account of the incident from the Sheriff’s Office, the woman offered to make restitution and was headed into the house when a gun was fired on the property.  Deputies confiscated the firearm.  The 46-year old Walker has been released from jail on a personal recognizance bond worth $20,000.
