Hailing those falling unemployment numbers

If you want work in Oconee but haven’t been fortunate enough to find it, you are slotted in a declining number of county residents these days.  The county’s economic development director is encouraged that fewer Oconeeans are left to draw benefit while the county’s workforce is growing.  The Economic Alliance’s Richard Blackwell focused on that 5.8% county jobless rate for August, down from July and down from August a year ago.  Though the county’s pool of available workers is beginning to thin out, Blackwell’s work continues.  He’s hopeful of a couple of announcements soon and has said the county continues to wait for Michelin’s announcement on whether the company will build a large distribution center in Fair Play.
