Hampton pushes back opening

September 12, 2013

For those who’ve wondered when Oconee County’s first 100-room hotel will officially open, an answer came during a meeting this morning near Seneca. Sherrie Cobb, district sales manager, told the Oconee Alliance meeting that opening date for the Hampton Inn and Suites will be Friday, September 27—in time for Homecoming Weekend at Clemson University. Today, however, the hotel will begin to accept reservations online. According to Cobb, several bookings have been made for Oktoberfest weekend, when the Tigers play Florida State. “We’re really, really excited,” she said.
