Hands Across the Border

Law enforcement in South Carolina and its two bordering states are drawing attention to the need to drive safely this Labor Day holiday weekend. State troopers from the S.C. Department of Public Safety joined fellow law enforcement officers from Georgia and North Carolina for a Hands Across the Border highway safety awareness event last night in Rabun County. There, among the speakers, South Carolina Patrol Captain Russell Wilson paid special attention to the problem of driving under the influence, as it relates especially to highway fatalities. And, Wilson is stressing zero tolerance, as the roads and the highways fill with holiday travelers who disregard their safety and that of others.
