Hazardous waste collection day

We all have waste that sits around the house, and some of it is hazardous. Tomorrow Oconeeans can take advantage of a free event called Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day.” From 10 a-m to 2 p-m, you may bring items to the parking lot of Seneca High School. Paint will not be accepted, but you can get rid of used oil, pesticides, cleaning products, and herbicides. The Oconee Sheriff’s Department will be present to collect unused medications. You are asked to mark out any personal information, including name and prescription number. Goodwill Industries, in cooperation with Oconee Solid Waste, will be there to collect unwanted electronics. To take part, you must be an Oconeean. Proof of residency will be required.
