Hazing at Walhalla High

Incidents of hazing involving members of the Walhalla High boys’ varsity soccer team have led to what the county superintendent says are the suspensions of five players  Dr. Michael Thorsland, superintendent, says the suspensions have resulted from an investigation begun Tuesday when one of the victims contacted school authorities.  Specific details of what happened weren’t immediately provided to 96.3/WGOG NEWS, but Thorsland said Walhalla Athletic Director Hal Dunlap was meeting this morning with players and their parents. Thorsland says the team’s schedule will continue and a practice was taking place this morning.  As part of the district’s investigation of what happened, law enforcement was contacted.  But Thorsland said he doesn’t believe criminal charges will arise.
