Hearing to decide special exception

A late afternoon City Hall hearing at Walhalla will decide whether a homeowner may provide child care on Blueberry Court near Meadowlark Drive. James Ashton, the city zoning administrator, says the issue is whether Kim Jackson can keep three children in the home without the applicable state license. “The State will have to decide whether or not she can actually have a day care facility at her residence if we approve it and then the business license will be up to the city whether or not they require her to have one,” Ashton explained this morning. This afternoon’s public hearing by the Board of Zoning Appeals will start at 4:30.
