Heavy fire damage on Elizabeth Street

July 18, 2013

Fire fighters put a stop to a West Union home fire this morning on Elizabeth Street—behind the former Dairy Queen and not far from the Walhalla city limit. Capt. Mark Hollifield said an investigation as to the cause of that fire is underway. At the time, no one was in that trailer home. According to Hollifield, a hydrant across West Union’s Main Street was sufficient to provide all of the water to stop the fire.
