Help for Seniors during Open Enrollment

October 19, 2012

Oconee Medical Center is teaming with South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging, or AAA,  to assist Medicare beneficiaries with enrolling or renewing their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan.  Medicare counselors for the AAA’s Insurance Counseling & Referral for Elders or I-CARE program, will be on site at Oconee Medical Center to offer individual appointments.  Counselors can help by answering questions and assisting with enrollment, review and or changes to enrollees’ prescription drug coverage for 2012.  Counselors will be available throughout the Medicare enrollment period, now, through December 7.  Call the Appalachian Area Agency on Aging at 800-434-4036 to schedule an individual counseling or enrollment appointment.  Services of I-CARE are free.  The program isn’t affiliated with any insurance plan and doesn’t sell or endorse any insurance company.
