Heritage Center to rely on piggy bank

The failure of the 1-cent capital project sales tax leaves the Oconee Heritage Center more than $400 thousand dollars short in its quest for funding to renovate and improve its museums. But the Heritage Center has not given up. It released this statement yesterday: “If you support the Oconee Heritage Center and still want us to have your pennies, drop off your loose change and help us fill our donation jar.” The goal is to fill that jar with change by Saturday, November 15. Larger denominations are gladly accepted.
