Heritage Fair offers know-how and financial aid

January 24, 2014

A necessary component of the food supply is the agricultural practice of beekeeping. And the South Carolina Foothills Heritage Fair in Oconee seeks to help. The fair board of directors offers a beekeeping class and a scholarship to entice youngsters to get interested. Board member Jeff Blackwell says most beekeepers are aging, and new energy is needed to assure an important part of the food supply. If you are interested in the enjoyment that beekeeping offers, call Blackwell at 280-4073.
