Holding the line on 2016 power rates

The consortium that wholesales electric power to Westminster forecasts no rate increase during 2016.  The announcement was made by Joel Ledbetter, chairman of the board of the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency.  PMPA is made up of ten municipalities, including Westminster, which purchase wholesale electricity and then re-sells it to their retail customers.  PMPA owns a 25% share of a Duke Energy nuclear reactor in York County.  Ledbetter said, “It appears that PMPA revenues will be sufficient to cover its costs next year without the need for a rate increase.”
