Holding the line on the charge to the member cities

The policymakers for the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority had debated the idea of raising the charge for its member cities.  But, in the end, they decided to hold the line on the charge to Seneca, Walhalla, and Westminster.  Walhalla Councilman Lamar Bailes, a member of the JRSA board, told his city colleagues last night that means 2016-17 will be the fifth year of no rate increase.  Actually, according Scott Parris, Walhalla utilities superintendent and chairman of the sewer commissioners, Walhalla may see a small decrease in the charge that is predicated on how many gallons his city sends to the county plant for treatment.
