Holiday Fatalities

Every holiday weekend sees a number of traffic fatalities and the Easter Holiday is no exception.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports 5 people died on South Carolina roadways between Friday and Sunday night.  Abbeville County was the sight of 2 of the weekend fatalities. A 17 year old Donald’s teen died in a early Saturday morning accident about 2 miles south of Honea Path.  Authorities say Dustin Kent was pronounced dead at the scene following the early Saturday morning accident.  In a Sunday afternoon accident in Abbeville County, a 70 year old Michigan woman was killed. Authorities say Judy Davis of Watervliet, Michigan died when she lost control of her vehicle and the vehicle struck a tree.  The South Carolina Department of Public Safety also reports 3 other fatalities during the holiday weekend.  An 18 year old Greenwood woman died Saturday evening in an accident in Saluda County.  A 31 year old St Stephen man was killed in an early Saturday morning accident , and a 31 year old Darlington woman died Saturday night in a crash in Darlington County.
