Home burglary in broad daylight

January 24, 2013

Someone kicked open a door at a home near Westminster, and a youngster inside jumped out of a window to escape the burglars who were twisting the knob to her locked bedroom door. The burglary occurred during the noon hour yesterday on the Seed Farm Road. The girl made good her escape by running across the yard to her grandmother’s home. But the burglar or burglars stole a safe, a handgun, and jewelry. Grandmother and her granddaughter jumped into a vehicle to chase the suspect’s vehicle, but could not catch it. The Oconee Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
