Oconee County’s volunteer Cleveland Fire Department sent fire fighters, trucks and equipment yesterday to a home fire in rural Stephens County, Georgia. The fire occurred around 3 o’clock. Grahl Haney, deputy fire chief for Oconee, says the fire exacted a heavy toll on Estathoe Circle. No one reported hurt. The location was in a Stephens County area, not far across the bridge dividing South Carolina from Georgia. Oconee’s fire fighters were there, in response to an assistance request from their counterparts in Stephens County.
