Home fire and truck accident

A home fire followed by a truck accident a few hours later made for an early start to the day in the service area covered by Keowee Fire Department. During the 9 o’clock hour this morning, a tandem truck hit a guardrail at the traffic light intersection of SC 130/183 near Oconee Nuclear. The driver apparently suffered minor injuries, but not enough to require hospital treatment. Shortly before 3 this morning, Keowee fire fighters and three other stations rolled to South Carolina 130 where a home caught fire on Holder’s Landing Road. According to assistant chief Brandon Shirley, the female occupant of that home escaped with minor burns. The fire that damaged a bedroom and other parts of the home is believed to have started from an electrical problem.
