Home fire near Seneca
Oconee County fire fighters were on the scene of a home fire near Seneca yesterday afternoon for more than one hour. Charlie King, Oconee Fire Chief, called it a small kitchen and attic fire from cooking. Twenty-four volunteer fire fighters responded. Two adults were treated for smoke inhalation, but no one required a trip to the hospital. American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers are assisting the occupant with financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging, and other essentials, along with comfort kits containing personal hygiene items.
